Kids Run the OC

Kids Run the OC is coming to Chapman Hills Elementary! The Final Mile Event will be held on 5/4/2024. REGISTER HERE! Good news: The deadline to register for the Final Mile Event has been extended to Monday, March, 11th!

What is Kids Run the OC?

This is a supplemental PE program that is designed to help kids become more physically fit, promote an active and healthy lifestyle and combat the onset of childhood obesity. . . while having fun! This is accomplished through various games, which help improve speed, agility, hand/eye coordination, flexibility and your child's overall fitness. Students will be led through our popular and fun training program at our school by parent coach BreAnna Gonzalez, along with many volunteer parent coaches.

At the conclusion of the training is a 1-mile kids-only race held in conjunction with The OC Marathon finish line events.

Key Info:

All students will be trained by parent coaches (led by coach BreAnna Gonzalez)
Training takes place during a predetermined PE period in school hour
By May, each student will receive an equivalent of 25.2 miles of running
Student can register for the one-mile KROC race on 5/4/2024 (located at The OC Fair and Event Center)
- Final Mile Event registration
- It's an enclosed 1-mile loop, with official timing and ranking - Awards are given for top finishers (Click here for a copy of the course map)
- Athletes (from grades K-8) from every city in Orange County will be present
- $29 (plus $2.45 fee) for the 1-mile race - you will also receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt
- Deadline to register for the race is MARCH 11

How do I get involved:

Help your child ready for the KROC PE training on the assigned day (see below info)
Volunteer as a parent coach- It's fun and the kids love to see you there! (Cleared volunteers only)
Register your child to run for KROC (deadline is 3/11/2024)
